A new Aventurin{e} / OpenVZ container refuses to print to logfiles. Impacted logs can be /var/log/messages, /var/log/maillog, /var/log/httpd/* and so forth. The recommended fix from SolarSpeed is to run the following commands at CLI:
rm /var/log/journal/311eec4915624c639c5e5ca97e9a3100/* rm /var/lib/rsyslog/imjournal.state systemctl restart systemd-journald systemctl restart rsyslog
